There is a lot of talk these days about working your brain to keep it functioning well, now and, as you age. One excellent way to do this is to learn something new. My wife is currently at a class learning about medicinal properties of plants that can be foraged locally. That may or may not be your cup of tea, but the point is she is out learning something new. The value is not just in keeping your brain active but also in making yourself better. This is something that I need to get much better at. Honestly I don’t think I have taken a class since my daughter was born so it has been more than three years for me.
Taking a class can help you excel in a field you are already in or introduce you to a new one. It doesn’t really matter, there are obvious benefits to both. My friend regularly finds classes to take just to explore new hobbies. Classes are a great place to get a creative boost or meet someone new.
I have found classes through a variety of ways. Community colleges and Universities often have community education classes. They are also often available through different trade organizations. The one my wife is currently at she saw posted at the local library. There are also a limitless amount of classes available online. Maybe you can find one that you and your spouse can do together or even one that is good for the kids. Learning is never a bad thing and it is great for you kids to see that you have made learning a lifelong mission. Please let me know what you find!
