The Nick I’m inspired by in Nick Santonastasso. Some of you may have heard of him, some of you may know a bunch about, even so keep reading especially if you live in or near Bellingham, WA. A quick background on Nick. Nick was born without legs, only one arm, and on that one arm he does not have a fully developed hand. This is the type of situation where the parents are told don’t expect much out of this kid. He won’t be able to do what other kids do and will be very limited as an adult. Well I don’t know if Nick was listening or what but boy were those doctors wrong.
A quick glance at Nick’s Instagram and it is clear that this man does not let anything hold him back. He has an attitude that makes allows him to live life and accomplish big goals. It’s an attitude that everyone can learn from no matter what your circumstances at birth or any other time in your life are. He has written a book, Victim to Victor, and is also a speaker inspiring people to push through the most debilitating thing a person can have, a limited belief in themselves.
I have not met, I’m excited to say that I will soon, but from reading his book and listening to him on podcasts he does not come across as the type of guy that makes excuses. He decides he wants to do something, and he does it. Coming from someone who easily could make excuses for everything it is inspiring to hear his take on life. I suggest you check him out whether it is on social media, his book, or listening to him speak in person.
For those of you who are somewhat close to Bellingham you will have the opportunity to listen to him speak in person on October 8th at the Mt. Baker Theater. The group Inspire Bellingham, which I’m fortunate to be a part of, is bringing him in. Click here for more information on Nick, the event, and the group. I hope to see some of you there and I look forward to hearing what you think!
