Play Time

As I have been talking to people over the last couple months the consistent theme is what they now see as important is a lot different than a year ago. They are trading maximizing the dollars they can make for enjoying what they do every day and who they do it with. Spending time with family was forced upon us and many realized that not only was it not so bad, but they really enjoyed it. Life is serious, and we have had a serious year, but maybe we don’t have to take it so seriously. Maybe we can let go and have fun like we did when we were kids. Instead of focusing on work and seeing if a little fun can come, let’s just have fun in whatever we are doing whether it’s work or not. That’s why I’m saying it’s play time.

Our world is beginning to open back up and look how it once did but let’s take all the good of that and remove the old boring parts where we sit around not having fun. Let’s play! Let’s play with our friends, our family, and most importantly our kids. That’s really all kids want to do, and we should take a lesson from them. Yes, they will sit and watch TV for hours but that’s because as adults we are not giving them, or ourselves, a better option. We have been longing for this opportunity so don’t forget what it’s like to not be able to play, and return to normal life of putting the fun on the back burner. Have fun right now in whatever you’re doing. Turn it into a game and just play. When your kids want to be silly don’t shoot them down or say you need to do something else. Embrace it and join in the fun.

I’m excited for this new world where people are enjoying life, I’m excited to see people reshaping their priorities, I’m excited to see people make life an adventure, and I’m exited to join in the fun! Let me know what you are doing with your play time and I’ll do the same.
