January 1st of 2026 didn’t just mean the start of a new year; it was the beginning of a new world that I had been designing for most of my life. My last official day at Moceri Construction was the last day of 2025. I left the business in the capable hands of my younger brother, Dominic, and his team, who are the best in the business. This was not a decision I took lightly. It meant big changes for my family, the team, and our customers. I had been thinking about making this change since I was 15, when I started working at Moceri Construction in the summers. It was always a big part of my life, even as I came and went, going to college and having other jobs. While I had almost left on many occasions, the timing was never right for various reasons.

This time it was different. I wasn’t leaving because I was mad. I wasn’t leaving because things weren’t going well. It was actually quite the opposite. The last few years at Moceri Construction were the best years by essentially every metric. As I made transition plans with my brother, I wasn’t running away from Moceri Construction but towards other passions.

While many people know I have made this change, I still run into people daily who don’t. The first question is always, “What are you doing now?” I don’t have a great answer, so I usually reply by saying I’m doing lots of things and then elaborate. So, here is what I’m doing

I co-host the weekly financial podcast Drip Trickle Flow Flood with Melissa Cassera. We discuss financial topics and bring on guests to share their story and wisdom with our audience. She and I are also working on the Drip Trickle Flow Flood book, which we are planning to publish this fall. The goal is to help people design their own financial world through different income streams. We promote financial education and normalizing the discussion of money.

I’m an author. I’m trying to get A Wandering Mind, my first book, released in the fall of 2024, into people’s hands and keep bookstores stocked. I’m also working on some solo books in addition to the Drip Trickle Flow Flood book.

I’m writing. Through a variety of publications, I get to share some of the adventures I go on and tell the stories of other people doing cool stuff. Getting inspired and living vicariously through artists, athletes, business owners, and adventurers is one of my favorite ways of shaping how I will design my life in the future.

Coaching. I coach people in business and finances, as well as coaching youth in Basketball, Track, and Cross Country.

Yard Game Nation. Through www.yardgamenation.com and Instagram, I sporadically share yard games, but I have some exciting things I’m working on for this part of my world.

Looking for other things to pursue. I love the things I’m working on, but I am always on the lookout for other things to do, whether that’s pursuing some new thing I’m excited about or helping someone bring their pursuit to life, I’m always looking to be a part of something cool.

So, that’s the change in my world. I will continue to pursue these passions I’ve been working on, and I’m excited to see what else the future holds for me. The process of designing life is never-ending, and I love that, because we never stop changing.

I’ll leave you with this. I have been asked regularly if I regret leaving Moceri Construction, and the answer is no. I’m proud of my time with the company. Through loyal team members, we were able to build beautiful homes, bringing customers’ dreams to life. I learned about business and life. I learned enough lessons to fill a book, a book that I may one day write. I’m taking all of those experiences with me in this next chapter of life. So, no, I won’t be a part of Moceri Construction, but Moceri Construction will always be a part of me, and that’s why I’m able to move forward with no regrets.
